Summary of AGV Specialist Position
The Mobile Robotics Application Engineer will work in conjunction with Engineering on the development and tryout of new and innovative technologies related to material handling and logistics using floor robots. Along with supporting various technical applications such as programming routes, system layouts, controlling peripheral equipment and other technically challenging applications existing in the field or currently being developed.
Duties and Responsibilities
In this role the ideal candidate will act as a network and think innovatively while executing the following responsibilities:
· Attend project meetings and schedule meetings with suppliers as necessary
· Act as a technical liaison between Engineering and Manufacturing
· Work with Controls Engineering during debug and commissioning
· Review drawing package for correct interface, verify the interface matches application
· Design mobile robot path off-line based on customer supplied facility layouts
· Deploy and validate mobile robot path at end-users facility
· Set up communication with existing machine controls and warehouse management systems
· Design and validate application specific implements and equipment
· Debug programs and verify all signals to and from the PLC
· Be able to identify control issues as related to the mobile robot
· Document all changes in PLC and mobile robot programs
· Backup and secure PLC and mobile robot programs and parameters
· Other duties as required
· Reports to: Industrial Engineering Manager
Desired Knowledge
· Experience with Kollmorgen NDC8 mobile robotics software suit
· C-Way Software
· Knowledge of AGV (software, programming and utilization)
· AutoCAD
· Import/Export data
· Experience using PLC programming (Siemens & Rockwell)

Qualifications
· At least 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing or Engineering as AGV Specialist
· Three years of related experience in automation controls
· High School Diploma, GED or the equivalent
· Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally 21-40% of the time, as needed
· Highly organized and process driven
· Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency
· Excellent customer service skills and problem solving skills
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong presentation skills Ability to multitask in a fast paste and international work environment
