The Corporate Strategy Team is focused on developing answers to the company's most pressing strategic questions as we bring about the future of energy for Michigan. This includes developing strategies for major shifts in technologies (renewables, storage, hydrogen, etc.) as well as creating new products and business models as we look for better ways to serve our customers. The Director position is responsible for leading complex projects which often include research and data collection, data analysis and modelling, and developing compelling and persuasive recommendations. Great candidates will show both distinctive business acumen as well as a genuine curiosity and passion for the energy industry and the energy transition.
Specific activities include:
*Developing project charters, workplans, and scoping documents
*Managing cross-functional teams
*Researching industry trends
*Interviewing company subject matter experts, customers, and industry experts
*Performing financial, statistical, and scenario modeling
*Creating high quality documents and effectively communicating findings to senior leadership
*Supporting the overall strategic planning process and implementation of the company's strategic roadmaps
The Corporate Strategy Team's role is to develop recommendations for senior executives to make the best decisions about critical business issues. In this role, team members are exposed to a wide range of energy industry issues instrumental to the company's continued success. Directors are continually exposed to challenges that stretch analytical skills, creativity, business acumen, interpersonal skills, and leadership.
This position will be remote/virtual until it's deemed safe to return to the office. At that time, we anticipate travel to Jackson, Michigan 1 - 2 days per week.
Specific requirements for applicants include:
*Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Statistics, or other related field (preferred MBA)
*Management/ strategy consulting experience
*6+ year of experience (preferred 3+ years post MBA)
