General Summary: Facilitates the development and implementation of complex infrastructure projects. Participates at all levels of infrastructure (e.g., application/infrastructure integration, networking, servers, storage, database, backup and recovery, desktop, etc.) components including but not limited to requirements definition, design, development, and operational support documentation.
Essential Duties:
Translate requirement into scalable software architecture and implementation.
Work with geographically distributed teams.
Collaborate across disciplines from inception with Program Managers to operation and support of live service with Customer Experience team.
Create automated quality gates and monitor for hyperscale service. Demonstrate engineering and operational excellence.
Set technical standards to peers on engineering and operational excellence.
Advocate for customers and demonstrate passion for technology.
Provide technical and strategic vision for the broader team.
Monitor, test performance, provide statistics and reports to proactively identify potential problems and bottlenecks.
Diagnose and resolve system problems.
Provide on-call technical support.
Recommend, schedule, and perform software improvements, upgrades, and/or purchases for the system infrastructure to maintain service levels.
Ensure environment is secure and appropriate recovery and redundancy issues are addressed.
Review and study assigned vendor software and hardware products to determine those that meet organizational needs.
Standard Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- 3+ years of experience in web and cloud technology stack such as Azure, AWS, GCP, etc.
- 5+ years in an Information Systems field such as systems administrator, storage administrator, backup administrator, network engineer, or consultant performing: systems integration, virtualization, storage provisioning, data backup and providing superior hands-on client support
- Preferred industry standard certifications (e.g., MCSE certifications.)
- Proven ability to gather and assess business requirements, develop and present solution alternatives, produce design and migration strategy documents, provide guidance and knowledge transfer to client staff and test/implement approved design.
