Job Description
We are seeking a Simulation Team Lead and Program Manager to support government leadership in the development, execution, and oversight of multiple immersive simulation programs supporting the DEVCOM Ground Vehicle Systems Center (GVSC) capability to support the Army's Next Generation Combat Vehicle (NGCV) and other legacy Army ground vehicle platforms. The successful candidate will lead a multi-disciplinary (engineering, computer science, physics, modelers, artists) and multi-contractor/employer team.
The immersive simulation team leverages modern simulation techniques and tools such as Unreal Engine 4 developing capabilities supporting Army Virtual Experimentation, concept and design visualization, Warfighter-machine interface development, and crew cockpit simulation. The program manager (PM) will coordinate activity of the simulation development team, working closely with the GVSC leadership team and coordinating with the reimbursable customers. The PM will coordinate solution vision with customer, develop simulation development plans and schedules, oversee execution and quality, and ensure timely delivery of simulation products to our customers meeting or exceeding expectations.
Job Requirements
The successful candidate will interpret requirements and design specifications, analyze alternatives, and creates solutions, and support integration and testing, as required. The Senior Engineer exercises independent judgment and initiative in solving problems and performing technical tasks having a high degree of complexity in the context of a close working relationship with the customer. The successful candidate regularly directly interfaces with government management personnel and is adept at oral and written communication required at all levels of management to maintain control of assigned programs and projects and advocate for program mission. The successful candidate must have a demonstrated, strong background in Software Design and Engineering; a background in modeling and simulation is preferred.
Required Qualifications:
15+ years experience in software development and engineering; experience in M&S is highly desirable
3-5 years in program management is desirable. A strong software leadership background is required.
B.S. degree in a scientific, engineering, or other applicable technical or analytical discipline.
Candidates must be able to obtain and retain appropriate clearances and are subjectto supporting background checks and reviews
Experience in establishing strong working relationships with R&D program managers as well as organization leadership; tracking task order efforts to rapidly identify and resolve potential and new problems; and identifying and resolving administrative and contractual issues related to a support services contract is preferable.
