POSITION OVERVIEW:
Project Engineers are responsible using their cross functional knowledge expertise to support the development of a combat ground vehicle, product, or project. This typically involves integrating the work of multiple domain specific teams to support the product/vehicle meeting its goals/targets, but can also involve deep dives into domains/skills that are outside of the pre-existing functional departments as required for a project/vehicle to meet its goals..
Responsibilities- Typical Project:
A project engineer will typically be responsible for developing core competencies and capabilities that are outside of the functional departments.
Responsibilities for a project engineer at Pratt Miller include but are not limited to leading the project technical teams through full vehicle design, chassis design, technology integration, simulation, objective testing, and subjective evaluation.

·Participate in the integrated development of the Combat Ground vehicle.
·Participate in vehicle and sub-system physical testing and the development of tests with focus on their application to the model fidelity.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
In addition to the responsibilities mentioned above, tasks relating to the following area will be assigned as required:
·Interaction with current and potential customers regarding the use of Pratt & Miller core technologies and tools.
·Technical planning on projects, including: project proposals, quotes, and resource estimation
·Development of material for education and training purposes, both for external customers and internal employees
·Authoring of technical documents for journal and conference submissions
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
·Fundamental understanding of a systems approach to combat ground vehicle development.
·Due to the variety of projects underway, a fundamental knowledge of almost all automotive systems and sub-systems will be required. (Aero, Autonomy, Kinematics, Controls, Serial Data Communication, Tire Dynamics, Driveline, Actuator Modelling, etc.)
·Fundamental understanding of DOE methods and their application to vehicle and sub-system synthesis.
·Experience in multibody simulation engineering analysis work, vehicle dynamics and control system development.
·This position requires technical writing skills for reports and specifications using MS Word and Excel; good platform skills using PowerPoint for presentations.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
·BS or MS in Mechanical, Aerospace or similar engineering education
·5+ years of applicable industry experience
·Combat ground vehicle experience
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
·Some travel may be required depending on the program
·Must remain flexible with schedule and adjust to work early, late, and/or weekends as deadlines require
·This position may require lawful access to ITAR/EAR controlled information and employees in this role will need to meet those requirements. Requirements include US Citizenship, US Permanent Resident or ability to meet licensure requirements.
