- Job Description
- Drives Center vehicles as needed to perform duties. As directed, transports trainees to and from designated destinations to include, but not limited to, bus stations, airports, medical appointments, WBL sites, ACT/OCT sites, GED testing sites, recreational activities, etc. Demonstrates helpful, responsible and caring attitude. Picks up and delivers materials as directed. Performs routine vehicle inspections on GSA fleet. Maintains accurate transportation logs. Reports vehicle repair needs to supervisor. Reports accidents to supervisor immediately upon returning to center. Ensures that all safety requirement and guidelines are followed.
- Vehicle maintenance: Ensures vehicles are well-maintained and clean, clutter-, debris-, and graffiti-free. Ensures that vehicles are maintained per the DOL, Corporate, and Center requirements.
- Maintains reporting system: Maintains timely and accurate vehicle and transportation logs and records.
- Supports department: Assists with other departmental functions during non-driving periods.
- Supports the CDSS initiatives: Develops and implements a productive Work-based Learning program to include the development of trainees’ social and employability skills. Explores innovative ways to incorporate transportation into the academic, CTT, and leisure time learning program. Establishes Center-wide events for trainees and staff that promote transportation learning. Must be responsive to trainees’ needs, abilities, and conduct.
- Required Skills
- High School diploma or GED.
- Must have a valid CDL with a P endorsement and good driving record
- CPR/First Aid certifications.
- One year of transportation experience driving school bus or similar vehicle
- Good driving record with no moving violations in the last three years
