Job Summary
Establishes and maintains vendor relationships to ensure adequate supplies for plant operations on a cost effective basis Identifies total cost savings and quality enhancement opportunities.
Position Responsibilities
- Ensure raw ingredients, packaging and production supplies are received, documented and stored properly.
- Conduct counts and reconciliations to ensure inventories are accurate and transactional activity properly processes.
- Monitor inventories and track production progress to identify and mitigate factors that could impact production, receiving and shipping schedules.
- Analyze and adjust ordering and inventory plans to ensure production schedules are supported.
- Ensure compliance with quality processes and procedures including product hold, rework, product traceability and destruction of dispositioned product.
- Coordinate the work and actions of department team members to ensure requirements and actions are completed.
- Order and process Purchase Orders through EAM and set up inbound transportation on required materials to ensure adequate supply to support production operations.
- Identify and take corrective action to problems requiring special attention.
- Participate and coordinate financial closes to ensure inventory balances are accurate and transactional activity has properly processed.
- Ensure adequate stocking levels, reorder points and receiving schedules are established and monitored.
- Coordinate with finance on inventory imbalances and reconciliation issues to determine cause and resolution.
- Coordinate with warehouse and drop lot on inbound receiving and storage requirements.
- Manage dry drop trailers in drop lot for safety stock and overflow storage.
- Coordinate and manage physical inventories and cycle counting programs.
- Ensure Oracle system is updated for new/revised skus and vendors/suppliers.
- Coordinate the return to vendors of returnable shipping materials such as pallets, tier sheets and shipping containers and ensure documentation is processed and maintained.
- Implement and maintain mechanized and manual prime material inventory management systems to ensure adequate and accurate inventory levels are available to sustain production operations and ensure transaction history.
- Identify, manage and report to management any potential overage material (SLOB).
- Be available for working flexible timeframes and support the plant production schedule.
- Coordinate and contact vendors and corporate procurement to address any issues with forecast volume, lead-time and service.
- Create a team-based environment ensuring team requirements are communicated within the team culture.
- Perform other related tasks or duties as required by management.
Position Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required, Bachelor's degree preferred
- Minimum one year work experience in manufacturing/warehouse position
- Excellent verbal & written/communication skills
- Ability to use critical thinking to plan, problem solve and make decisions
- Excellent project planning and time management skills
- Ability to react positively to change.
- Must be a team player and support management decisions with a related ability to effectively collaborate with others.
- Demonstrate positive leadership.
- Computer skills: Purchasing system, SAP experience, Microsoft-Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Ability to work full time and travel as needed
