JOB DESCRIPTION
Basic Responsibilities
Responsible for managing cross-functional projects which require a broader knowledge and influence within the organization. In this position they will be interfacing with chief engineers, PM Directors and purchasing commodity directors to organize and implement projects. Elevates as appropriate when organizational roadblocks or technical challenges arise. Utilizes best practices in engineering and project management.
Specific Functions-Technical Responsibilities
Applies best practices in creating cost reduction ideas through brainstorming and other idea generation activities to generate creative solution to current design issues. Leads cross-functional reviews to identify, prioritize and implement cost reduction projects which will improve the profitability of the business unit. Focus on high value project with significant savings (>$1.0 M) and leverage a cross-functional team to implement across multiple business units.
Education Required
Degree in Engineering
Experience Required
5-10 years in engineering and/or technical program management
