The Project Engineer for products is the main point of contact for the assigned project or product. She/he will be coordinating all the mechanical engineering activities related to the assigned project/product
The Project Engineer is accountable for the design of Engineering projects with top-down oversight from inception (Proposal) to completion (Customer Buy off).
He/she must ensure that all projects are prepared and completed safely adhering to the required standards, customer, internal and municipal specifications, budget, timeline and scope. Works with all business unit functions in support of project goals and requirements.

In this role the ideal candidate will act as a network and think innovatively while executing the following responsibilities:
- To lead communication with the customer, internal function and subcontractors to endure the smooth running if the project
- To evaluate and review customer Requirements & Specification and communicate them to all parties in the organization ensuring the output of the design team fulfills all requirements and specifications.
- To line up FEA analysis / calculations and critically verify results from internal or external sources
- To perform root cause analysis and lead problems and warranty issues resolution
- To review and implement Lesson Learned from previous projects
- To coordinate and lead System Engineers and designers involved in the project, ensuring homogeneous solutions among all, timely execution and quality of the design generated
- To maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress and manage the project within budget and identify and document added/reduced scope of work with potential impact on resource workload, timing and costs.
- Be the technical reference for the assigned project or product being ultimately in charge of all important technical decisions
- Other duties as required

This role is best suited for a candidate that possess the following qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar disciplines
- At least 5 years of experience in engineering for automation, conveyors or special machines
- Fluent in English
- Critical FEA knowledge
- Deep knowledge of machine design and mechanical engineering
- Electric motors and drives base functioning principles
- Ability to develop and meet schedules;
- Ability to effectively work in a team with ambiguity, lack of clear direction and information
Preferred Qualifications:
- Higher education (PhD)
- CatiaV5 knowledge
- Customer manufacturing processes, specifically automotive Body in White
- Experience in warehouse automation and general industry
- Second language (Spanish, Italian)
