Whatyou can expect in this position:
Undergeneral supervision, performs general maintenance of the buildings, equipment,and grounds to present a clean, well-functioning and orderly work site.
Assiststhe Facilities team as directed; ensures that all facilities, equipment andoffice service functions operate effectively and efficiently. Performsa variety of routine daily and administrative tasks; reviews and preparesreports and correspondence; participates in special department projects.
Thisrole will require the ability to function independently within the roleperforming maintenance duties and as much as 50% of the job functioningadministratively.
Whatyou will do:
•Performs a variety of hands-on repairand maintenance work in the following areas: buildings and grounds, process equipment, environmental safety.
•Reads, understands, and practices everythingset forth in Versiti policies, SOP's and procedures before completingtasks. Actively demonstrates the 4Versiti core values as well as holding others accountable for them.
•Uses discretion and professionalismworking in and around donors, visitors, and employees to complete work in atimely manner and minimize disruptions to operations. Thoroughly cleans up at the completion ofwork, leaving the area in a "better-than-found-it" condition.
•Performs maintenance, repair, andhousekeeping items as needed ensuring that they have an understanding of anyoperator's manuals or regulations in their actions.
•Develops and Maintains updated,accurate and legible maintenance logs, calendars, schedules and any otheradministrative tool utilized by the department.
•Actively participates in departmentalimprovement through working with the team on developing and executing goals,refining practices and procedures, and coordinating and overseeing theappropriate vendors.
•Due to the responsibilities of thisposition and the business of Versiti this position will be required toparticipate in the on call system to ensure facilities assistance is available twenty-fourhours/day, seven days/week to address and resolve any urgent facilitiesproblems.
•Performs other duties as assigned.

Whatyou will need:
Education
Highschool diploma or general education degree (GED) required and a valid driver'slicense.
Associate'sdegree preferred.
Experience
Minimum of two years offacilities/equipment maintenance preferred.
Skills and Knowledge
•General knowledge of building maintenanceoperations, service activities; terminology, methods, materials, and equipmentused in the maintenance, repair, and construction of building structures andsystems; principles and practices of safety management; pertinent local, state,and federal laws, ordinances, codes, and rules.
•Ability to read and interpretdocuments such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions andprocedure manuals. Ability to writeroutine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate tactfully and effectively with donors, volunteersand employees of organization utilizing instructive or persuasive skills. Ability to establish and maintain effectiveworking relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
•Ability to read and understandconstruction drawings, plans, and specifications. Ability to do more complex addition,subtraction, multiplication and division. Ability to calculate figures, such as rate, ratio, percentage, interestand apply basic concepts of algebra. Ability to apply general understanding to carry out instructionsfurnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problemsinvolving several concrete variables is in standardized situations.
•Occasional evening and weekend hoursand moderate local and state-wide travel may be required.
•This person must have the ability towork independently with minimum supervision; multi-task; work with confidentialinformation; and work under high stress or pressure situations and with tightdeadlines.
•This person must possess a high levelof organization, customer service and detail-oriented skills; professionaldemeanor and projection of appropriate professional image; and excellent phoneetiquette, written word skills
Tools and Technology
•Basic computer skills required.
