Hardware Engineer in Zeeland, Michigan –
DISHER is currently looking for a Hardware Engineer with experience in hardware (and knowledge of software) development to add to our own Zeeland Electronics Engineering team. This is a full time, internal position with DISHER.
What you will get to do:
- Plan, design, implement and validate hardware, along with some software and test architectures
- Plan, deploy and validate hardware and some software tools to automate portions of future designs
- Develop prototypes through internal designs or external off-the-shelf platforms to demonstrate proof of concept
- Hardware Development:
- Circuit design, schematic capture, PCB layout, and components selection
- Derive worst case circuit analyses, mathematical modeling, thermal management and EMC performance studies
- Various hardware designs including: analog, digital, RF, Zigbee, IoT, USB, Wi-Fi, etc.
- Research, choose and connect various wireless technologies
- Software Development (desired, not mandatory):
- Including code verification and implementation
- Formal software engineering methods including working from detailed requirements documents, source code control and issue tracking, code walkthroughs, developer test procedures, and independent formal integration testing.
- Extensive code reuse is encouraged; develop templates for front-end processors
- Develop embedded, web, desktop and mobile apps software applications
- Plan and pursue future projects in app development and prototyping
What will make you successful:
- Bachelor of Science in Electronics / Electrical, Computer Science or related field required
- 3+ years of overall electronics engineering experience including:
- 3+ years of experience in hardware (required) and software (desired) development
- 3+ years of experience with C, C++, C#/Java and/or other open source languages highly preferred
- Test development, LabView, LabWindows/CVI and PHP preferred but not required
- Strong desire to learn is essential
- Ability to travel to customer sites essential, usually within West Michigan
- Ability to revamp Nerf Guns with maximum power and to reload in a matter of seconds
- Ability to consult with customers on their worksite and have excellent communication skills
- Be a self-starter, who can pursue and fulfill responsibilities independently
- Innovative and adaptable work style to work in the abstract
- Must have current and continuing right to work in the United States without sponsorship
