DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Tenneco's PowertrainDivision is looking for a Product Design Engineer/Finite Element Analyst thatwill be responsible to work closely with product engineering, development engineeringand manufacturing engineering to develop a high level of understanding of thedesign and manufacturing processes through design analysis techniques such asfinite element analysis. This person will become a valued member of our ACISIgnition department, where we striveto promote from within wherever possible; therefore, opportunities foradvancement are strong.
An ideal candidate for this position is a candidate who possesses a bachelor'sdegree in Engineering and extensivework experience in the area of finite element analysis or a graduate degree inEngineering. Abilityto interpret analysis results and recommend design improvements and the abilityto clearly present results to other engineers and customers are allnecessary skills for this position.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Workin collaboration with other product engineers and development engineers tounderstand analysis requirements and results requested.
•Developrelated software tools to aid in the analysis process.
•Responsiblefor making design analysis for customers at their request and makerecommendations.
•Trainnew engineering personnel in the use of resident design analysis software.
REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION:
•Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
•Abilityto analyze designs using commercial finite element analysis software.
•Thoroughunderstanding of mechanical and thermal stresses and strains.
•Understandingof electrical fields and electrical stresses.
•Understandingof Ignition System Component design parameters.
•Knowledgeof mechanical and thermal behavior of materials and experimental methods toobtain material properties.
