Ascension Allegan Hospital seeks a Medical Assistant to work Part-time in our Allegan Medical Clinic at the Walk-In-Center
JOB DUTIES INCLUDE, but may not be limited to:
- checking schedules and organizing patient flow;
- accompanying patients to exam/procedure room; collecting patient history
- assisting patients as needed with walking, transfers, dressing, collecting specimens preparing for exam, etc.;
- performing screenings per provider guidelines; assisting physicians/nurses with various procedures;
- relaying instructions to patients/families;
- answering calls and providing pertinent information;
- sending/receiving patient medical records;
- obtaining lab/x-ray reports, hospital notes, referral information, etc.;
- completing forms/requisitions as needed;
- scheduling appointments; managing charts
- verifying insurance coverage and patient demographics;
- setting up instruments and equipment;
- cleaning exam/procedure rooms, instruments and equipment;
QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE, but may not be limited to:
- Successful completion of Medical Assistant program
- One year of M.A. work experience (not including externship)
- Current CMA or RMA
- Current BLS
