The Material Area Manager is responsible for monitoring the work performance of material area supervisors and their employees. The Manager will direct the workforce to achieve plant production control goals and uninterrupted material delivery ensuring continuous production. He/she will lead and support World Class Manufacturing implementation and in achieving/exceeding production control scorecard targets.
Basic Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree
•Minimum of 5 years’ experience in one or combination of the following: material flow, material requirements planning (i.e. scheduling), and/or engineering change coordination
•Able to provide support to organization on any shift and weekends as needed
•Excellent organization, written and oral communication skills
•Excellent interpersonal skills
•Demonstrated ability using Kaizen principles
•Demonstrated ability to coach/mentor/develop team members
•Strong background in LEAN manufacturing systems
•Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Preferred Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Packaging Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Business a plus
•Advanced degree
•Experience working with teams in a unionized environment
