Arrow Staffing’s Kentwood Branch has a client that is looking for an experienced BREAK PRESS OPERATOR. The BREAK PRESS OPERATOR is responsible for operating press break on machine. Fits and fabricates steel, completes layout, and inspects finished product.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establish and operate sheet metal equipment under minimal supervision to fabricate as well as form products as per engineering drawings and parameters.
- Perform loading and unloading of material by changing tools and select required machine programs.
- Inspect and maintain press braking operative equipment for conformance with safety requirements.
- Ensure to correct issues related to safety before performing operations.
- Prioritize production runs to assure customer orders are concluded on time, maximize machine run time plus productivity.
- Operate fabricator, begin machine and supervise displays plus machine operation to identify malfunction.
- Head responsibility to maximize material use by applying nesting techniques and clinet tooling.
- Select best suitable sheet size for parts to be fabricated to reduce scrap.
- Ensure optimum machine performance through sharpening of tool as required.
- Maintain and manage machine as well as tooling cleanliness and in good physical shape.
- Inspects all manufactured parts following work in process inspection methods and ensure to accomplish engineering specifications.
- Resolve quality as well as mechanical problems and repair minor issues along with equipment adjustments as required.
- Perform from blueprints, engineering parameters as well as production schedules.
- Establish brake press adhering print parameters and work instructions.
- Ensure to setup sheet for accessible for part being established or complete.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Math Skills: Good math skills will help press brake operators understand complex instructions, how schematics work and make sure items are designed and built correctly.
- Problem Solving Skills: Press brake operators will need to know why machines are not at peak performance, how to increase output and how to fix errors.
- Attention to Detail: Press brakes are precision equipment. Being off by millimeters could be a critical error. Keen attention to detail is required.
- Mechanical and Technical Skills: Machines controlled by computers will need operators who understand CAD/CAM technology.
- Stamina: Press brake operators often work long hours doing repetitive movements.
