Organizational Development Learning & Development Lead - Leadership & Team Development
In this critical role on AlixPartners' Organizational Development (OD) team, you will have the opportunity to apply your passion and expertise toward positioning our leaders, managers, and teams globally to tackle some of the most complex issues in business while continuing to differentiate, transform, and grow our firm and people.
The OD Learning & Development Lead - Leadership & Team Development reports to the OD Learning & Development Director & Co-Lead. Preferred location is Southfield, MI; consideration may be given to our Chicago, New York, Dallas, or Washington D.C. offices. Paid relocation is not available. Travel expectations of 30% - 40%.Key Responsibilities:
•Manage the firm's strategic leadership development suite of programs (Managing Director Leadership Program, Director Leadership Program, etc.) and associated budget. Ensure effective program delivery and implementation globally that brings competitive advantage, fuels an open, inclusive, and flexible culture, and aligns with our Core Values and business and people strategies.
•Collaborate with senior leaders on identifying and communicating the roles, expectations, and profiles of our leaders, managers, and teams and on implementing both small- and large-scale interventions globally.
•Target forward looking and multi-disciplinary approaches to design and/or develop roadmaps, experiences, and programs that push the boundaries of our current and emerging leaders, managers, and teams globally through building the skills and capabilities for today and tomorrow.
•Provide thought leadership and conduct external research on best practices and innovation to develop and enable leaders, managers, and teams.
•Partner with leaders globally on their organizations and bring bespoke solutions that enable them and their teams to perform at their best.
•Establish program advisory groups and produce narratives and written reports that analyze and interpret program results and other findings. Measure and improve program impact and effectiveness toward driving KPI's.
•Select and manage internal and external partners as needed to support various aspects of successful delivery including university partners, individual/group coaching, and leadership and team development content.
•Equip our leaders who serve in people-enabling roles (mentors, sponsors, managers, etc.) to teach and develop others and to assist our people with owning their career growth.
•Additional responsibilities as identified.
Qualifications/Requirements:
•Bachelor's degree required. Advanced degree in OD, L&D, or related field highly preferred; equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of advanced degree.
•Minimum 5 years of experience designing and implementing large-scale leadership (including executive level), manager, and/or high-performing team programs within a complex, matrixed, and transforming organization; experience within a global and professional services firm preferred.
•Strong results orientation, adapting theories and best practices into practical, results-based solutions that align with business priorities and add clear, measurable value to the business.
•Experience applying a holistic approach to development that emphasizes not just education, but also self-awareness, exposure to real-world problems, connections to people, and persuasive tools and resources that reinforce skills.
•Experience building and implementing a mechanism to inventory, track, and follow up on actions and development progress/readiness and measure success.
•Ability to lead cross-functional and cross-regional project teams, and lead and facilitate meetings and learning sessions.
•Ability to influence and successfully collaborate with a range of stakeholders across a complex matrix, and drive multiple, shifting priorities with a sense of urgency.
•Strong verbal and written communication skills.
•Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
•Experience using project management tools a plus.
•Ability to travel, as required, 30% - 40%.
•Must have the ability to work full time in a dynamic office environment; Must be physically able to sit/stand at a computer and work in front of a computer screen for significant portions of the work day.
