Fincantieri Marinette Marine, a Fincantieri Marine Group Company, is a progressive shipyard specializing in building ships for the United States Navy. We currently have an opportunity for a Pipefitter at our Marinette, Wisconsin location.
POSITION SUMMARY
To accurately read and comprehend blueprints/diagrams that are associated with marine pipe installation and fabrication, in order to assemble and fabricate piping systems throughout the ship. Installation of piping systems using welding equipment, brazing, cementing, soldering and threading joints.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the essential duties satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.
Fabricate pipe spools using various fittings (butt weld, socket weld, braze, threaded). Bend pipe for installation on structural modules or shipboard. Installation of pipe in modules by use of proper hangers (brackets, clamps). On tank tops, bulkheads and structural frame members, you will be required to install pipe shipboard by proper hanger installation. Tools of the trade for pipe cutting and installation shall include tape measures, levels, squares and various wrenches. Will be using burning/braze torches, band saws and pipe threading machines. You will be required to layout pipe systems from blueprints, with an understanding of the ships structure for hanger installation. You will be testing complete systems as they run throughout the ship in various spaces anywhere from machinery spaces to open areas. With this, you will be required to know the ship and have knowledge of the pipe systems and pipe types.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must be a U.S. person.
Must be able to work at heights.
Must be able to work in tanks and confined spaces for pipe installation and testing.
Must be able to work in inclement weather conditions.
Must be available to work 1st, 2nd and 3rd shift, as required.
Must be able to lift 50lbs.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required.
1 to 2 years of pipe fitting experience, with some training of piping systems preferred.
A general knowledge of blueprints and hand tools is preferred.
A general understanding of a ships structure is preferred.
A general knowledge of piping systems for testing.
SKILLS:
Must know how to properly use tape measures, levels, squares and various wrenches.
Must be proficient in brazing/soldering, with knowledge of weld equipment and threaded pipe.
Must have an understanding of pipe types and types of fittings (butt weld, socket weld, braze, threaded).
Must have an understanding of pipe valves.
