Position Description:
Ultimately responsible for the planning and execution of engineering support to Stryker Production. This includes:
- Leading the screening, staffing, funding and managing of production related problem reports to resolution and in alignment with the needs of the Stryker Production Program.
- Ensuring high quality corrective actions are developed, validated and approved through the GDLS change process.
- When required, planning and managing individual projects for critical/significant issues that pose a significant risk to the production program
- Manage all projects within agreed upon scope, schedule and budget to a high level of quality and safety
- Create project plans/schedules by working with the ED&T and other functional organizations
- Expectation is that the candidate possess, understand and apply the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of project management to plan and execute Stryker engineering projects
- Providing technical support to other functional organizations (PM, SCM, PD&S, Finance, etc) as necessary to ensure successful problem resolution and maintaining ongoing production.
- Forecast all engineering manpower for the engineering projects for which you are responsible
- Identify critical issues requiring action in a timely manner and manage to closure
- Provide status of projects and corrective action activities at various meeting both internally and with the customer
- Develop and present executive level summaries
- Utilize established metrics for monitoring project performances
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Computer Engineering preferred. Other technical degrees will be considered with relevant experience. Advanced/additional degree in Business Administration a plus.
- 10+ years relevant experience in the engineering/defense industries
- Demonstrated project engineering experience overseeing simple or complex technical projects
- Proven experience in technical interface with customers and ability to lead multi functional teams
- Excellent communication skills: written, verbal, and presentation
- Organizational capabilities to direct and lead others in a team based environment
- Analytical skills and ability to direct and consult on technical analyses
- Must be willing to travel (domestic and/or foreign) as needed
- Proficiency in Windows XP and Microsoft Office with adequate computer skills to manage the development of presentations and other methods of media display
- Knowledge of business finances, Earned Value Management System (EVMS), scheduling tools, and critical path analysis.
- Significant experience with US Government programs a plus.
- Knowledge of GDLS products, processes, and capabilities a plus
