Working Fleet Supervisor
Are you an experienced fleet mechanic, who loves working on a variety of vehicles and equipment? We are a well-established, full-service landscape company who is looking to add a working fleet supervisor to our team. We have a wide variety of landscape, lawn maintenance and snow removal equipment along with utility vehicles and trailers.
Objective:
Follow and improve best practice principles across the organization to improve operational performance thus creating a streamlined full vehicle/equipment life cycle program. Work closely with the fleet and division managers. Actively work on fleet and equipment issues.
Responsibilities
- Repairs and maintains equipment such as mowers, small engines, 2 cycle equipment, snowplows and vehicles.
- Must have working knowledge of the principles, techniques and practices of servicing and repairing vehicles and equipment with a strong mechanical skill-set, including knowledge of basic electrical systems, hydraulic systems, mower technology and engines.
- Schedules and administers fleet maintenance, assists in troubleshooting problems with equipment. Communicates availability of vehicles for service with dispatch, maintenance manager and/or other operations personnel.
- Supervises maintenance operations. Plans and distributes the work. Delegates responsibilities as appropriate and helps monitoring performance.
- Works closely with managers providing status of maintenance and budget requirements. Reviews repair orders.
- Ensures all company safety policies and standards are followed.
- Hydraulic and welding experience preferred.
- Identifies and recommends actions to improve operating efficiency.
- You should be detail oriented, able to maintain inventory, operate safely and keep the shop in a clean and orderly manner.
- Completes special projects as assigned.
