A day in the life of the Architect, IT Integration Services is never the same but, in this role, you will be responsible to lead and participate in the design, implementation, and support of enterprise-class integration solutions (cloud-based, hybrid, and on-premises), while providing a high level of subject matter expert technical knowledge and guidance for both business and project teams.
What You’ll Do:
•Responsible to evaluate, design, develop, configure and/or implement integration software toolsets. Monitor and maintain the integration service toolset portfolio, keeping it up to date and properly patched.
•Responsible to design, develop, and/or implement integration solutions between applications, systems, and business partners.
•Perform feasibility analysis relevant to the integration requirements of future projects and determine impact to the enterprise Integration Services architecture and related cross-functional impact; present analysis, findings and recommendation to management.
•Act as a subject matter technical expert on critical technical or system issues (i.e., system integrations, compatibility, performance etc. across multiple platforms); identify resolutions and partner with other IT areas to ensure resolution of issues.
•Responsible to monitor, test and troubleshoot issues for assigned systems hardware, software, or applications as appropriate. Partner with the technical infrastructure teams for server and database configuration and work with other internal IT teams, external vendors and cross-functional business partners as necessary.
•Develop and maintain “best practices” tool usage documentation, appropriate to the toolset portfolio.
•Monitor IS system(s) performance, and where appropriate tune to ensure maximum system availability and performance levels.
•Plan and implement timely upgrades as required and/or appropriate, maintenance fixes and vendor-supplied patches for assigned IS toolset software. Recommend and execute modifications to improve efficiency, reliability and performance of IS systems.
•Provide technical guidance to IS team members regarding appropriate solution selection, usage, and performance tuning.
•Provide on-call support as assigned and scheduled.
•Maintain current knowledge of and expertise in industry trends and best practices within the Integration Services space. Make recommendations to improve current systems or processes.
Sound Like You? Here’s what you’ll need:
•Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration or related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
•Ten years Information Technology experience in application integration and development/programming.
•Strong experience with integrating both on premise and cloud-based applications/systems using various methods; including APIs, EDI, flat files, etc.
•Experience with Azure API Management and IBM's Sterling B2B Integrator.
•Proficient in the on-going administration and performance tuning of the enterprise EDI integration environment (Sterling B2B Integrator), including experience working with IBM support.
•Proficient in EDI transaction set mapping.
•Strong relational database, SQL skills required, with Oracle experience preferred.
•Strong knowledge of and diagnostic capability in the connectivity behavior of the various communication protocols, including AS2, SFTP, HTTPS, FTPS, and SSH.
•Working knowledge of data sensitivity and PCI compliance concepts and best practices.
•Proficient in visual depiction, documentation, and process modeling via the supported toolsets, with broad experience in Visio preferred.
•Experience with the following systems is a plus; Dell Boomi, IBM's WebSphere (WAS and Portal), and BMC's cross platform scheduling software (Control M).
