HR Director, Corporate Functions
IMPACT and OPPORTUNITY
The Director HR acts as a strategic partner to Gentherm’s Corporate functions within a highly complex and matrixed high-growth organization. Defines, drives and embeds HR strategy within the business to add value and provide professional HR guidance to an extensive goal-oriented organization (Finance; IT; Sales and Advanced Engineering/R & D). This key, hands-on role is an integral member of a cross functional HR team, collaborating closely with Talent Acquisition, Talent Management and Total Rewards. The HR Director performs as a Generalist with the knowledge and capacity to carry out all areas of the HR function. This role reports directly to the Chief HR Officer.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Partner closely with corporate executives and functional leadership to advise and coach them on creating, implementing, and driving a high-quality talent agenda and strategy for the organization
•Consult with the leadership teams to proactively interpret and leverage data to draw insights, diagnose and solve engagement, talent, and organizational effectiveness challenges
•Drive change management and corporate transformation efforts, ensuring employee and stakeholder impact are at the forefront of organizational decisions, and organizational changes are planned and thoughtfully implemented with strong process integrity
•Partner with the CHRO and other HR leaders to develop and implement an improved HR operating model, HR business partnership, structure and governance
•Lead Corporate-wide Diversity and Inclusion strategy
•Assess and anticipate HR related needs, develop and implement
•Leveraging the resources of the global human resources organization, provide full-scope HR support to corporate leaders including executive coaching, employee relations, compensation, succession planning, employee engagement and culture development, organizational design, change management, employee communications, and people development
•Work with leadership and the Talent Development COE to identify training needs for functions assigned
•Assist in the identification of key and high potential talent and collaborate on development plans to increase organizational impact solutions
•Maintain a high level of business comprehension
•Drive integrity and accountability for execution of core HR processes throughout assigned organizations, including goal setting, performance management, talent planning and annual merit (compensation)
•Identify levers and develop strategies that measurably improve engagement and retention (e.g. talent assessments, engagement surveys, exit surveys)
•Lead and participate in other cross-functional projects as needed to improve HR processes, policies and systems
•Work with leaders and employees to identify, establish, and maintain a positive work environment and authentic culture which encourages diversity, inclusion, and belonging
QUALIFICATIONS
•12+ years of progressive experience in all aspects of Human Resources
•Organization design and development experience, including strong change management, for a complex and transforming business organization
•Strong executive presence and proven experience directly supporting senior executives, influencing executives to make healthy optimal people decisions that achieve business results
•Establishes measurements that support the accomplishment of company goals.
•Thorough knowledge and experience with contemporary HR structure and practices, including HR business partnering, shared services, and centers of expertise (e.g., talent acquisition, talent management and development, compensation, benefits, compliance)
•Comfort using facts and data to build people-centric business cases; for example, use of staffing models and other analytical tools
•Creativity and out-of-the-box thinking; high EQ, passion, and strong critical thinking skills with a willingness to take reasonable risk and challenge the status quo
•Demonstrated initiative in a fast-moving environment; proactive problem solver, bias for action, roll-up-ones-sleeves attitude, a strong work ethic and steadfast integrity
•Exceptional project and process management skills with a demonstrated track record of delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced, complex, dynamic business environment
•HR experience with a focus on corporate functions, HR for HR, HR transformation or similar experience preferred
•Bachelor’s degree required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
•Advanced degree in human resources, business, or related field preferred
•Global Automotive industry experience
