Automated Driving Engineer – Simulation Candidates for consideration will be responsible for supporting research and developmental efforts in automated vehicle simulation technologies ranging from Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) to semi- and fully-autonomous driving capabilities. Job responsibilities may encompass: • development of custom software products and performance of research in the creation of models and simulation environments to support the development of autonomous vehicles • development of vehicle dynamics, sensor, pedestrian and automotive subsystems models for use in simulation • design and implementation of simulation environments to exercise computer models to replicate autonomous vehicle use cases • utilization of modern software development practices including test-driven development and code reviews in order to develop high quality, maintainable and reusable code. • code optimization to migrate prototype algorithms to automotive/embedded systems and/or parallelization via GPU architectures
Skills Required:
Experience in using a vehicle dynamics software simulation environment such as CarSim, CarMaker, MATLAB VehDyn Toolbox, ASM, or ADAMS • experience in chassis systems and vehicle dynamics and associated performance metrics. • demonstrated proficiency in a compiled language such as C/C++/Java or similar. • proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink. • proficiency in multiple operating systems such as Windows, UNIX, Linux, etc. • experience in developing use cases, test procedures and metrics for ADAS. • experience developing Software- and Hardware-in-the-Loop Simulation environments.
Skills Preferred:
Possess strong oral and written language skills • present results for internal management • work closely and effectively with external partners – corporations, universities and automotive suppliers
Experience Required:
1 year experience using either CarSim or Carmaker 2 years experience using Matlab and Matlab/Simulink

Education Required:
Ideal candidates should possess a strong interdisciplinary background in science and engineering with solid programming skills. A Ph.D. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Robotics, Computer Graphics or Gaming or similar fields, is preferred.
