The Integrity Responsible (IR) Engineer is responsible for leading and coordinating design integrity assignments for body, closures and exterior systems. The IR Engineer uses CAD (NX and Vis Mockup) and is responsible for interrogating geometry, assuring homologation compliance and coordinating with the perceived quality group. The IR Engineer drives synthesis of body, closure, and exterior components with interfacing parts and provide solutions and improvements to design issues and assures best practices are incorporated. He/she collaborates with the releasing engineer to assure geometry is validated prior to corporate releases and tool kick-offs and provides a clear line of communication to the senior engineering managers at regular intervals on project status.
Basic Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent from an ABET accredited or equivalent program
•Five years of relevant experience
•Working knowledge of Siemens Teamcenter or equivalent tool
•Strong written and oral communication skills
•Microsoft Office skills
•Google Suite skills
•Experience in design and releasing
•Strong organization skills
Preferred Qualifications:
•Self-starter with strong leadership, communication skills and demonstrated problem solving ability
•Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) Green Belt / Black Belt preferred
•Knowledgeable in regards to high strength steels, weld parameters and GD&T
•Knowledgeable in regards to Injection mold tool feasibility
•Demonstrates strong understanding of stamping process and feasibility vehicle occupant and component packaging
•Body and/or exterior systems experience and aptitude
