Job Description SummaryResponsible for driving delivery, realization, and execution of global strategies and regional direction setting to support Corporate, Business Unit (BU), and plant specific requirements, in alignment with global procurement leadership and support.
Job Description
•Responsible for long term planning, strategy development, and support continuous improvement of assigned spend categories.
•Directs cross-functional teams using analysis of historical spend data, market research and cost modeling to identify and leverage high value opportunities that deliver innovative and sustainable value, operational efficiencies and risk mitigation to the business.
•Establishes total landed cost model and/or Total Cost of Ownership Model for the category, in alignment with stakeholders.
•Provides leadership to key stakeholders throughout the company and builds relationships that facilitate the realization of delivering strategic and financial value.
•Develops and implements sourcing, negotiating and contracting strategies to achieve the desired outcomes aligned with the Category Strategy for global indirect procurement categories.
•Provides direction and strategy for the Category Buyers as part of their role.
•Utilizes the support of the Category Buyers to drive the efforts of the sourcing events to completion, delegating within the Global or Regional Buying team as needed.
•Executes the supplier management activities as outlined by the Category Director and Head of Procurement, ensuring the appropriate level of oversight, direction and development based on the defined criteria.
•Responsible for helping develop procurement processes and systems to help achieve Corporate, Business Unit, and plant procurement objectives related to continuous improvement, improving cash flow and other procurement metrics.
•Will support necessary global indirect and capital process and system training.
•Ensures the observance of global compliance standards, including the development of regional standards of compliance.
•Ensures purchasing competitiveness at a regional or BU level.
•Aligns regional budget and financial planning with the head of procurement as well as reporting and management.
•All other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Education
•10 years of Procurement background. Procurement experience should include a minimum of 5 years related to MRO procurement with category management and strategy.
•4 year degree
•MBA is desired
•Both plant and corporate procurement experience is desired
