Position Description:
Lead track suspension vehicle engineer for current and future track vehicles
The candidate shall lead all design, analysis, and test efforts towards the development of suspension components for future tracked vehicle programs. The Lead will also play active role on existing tracked vehicle programs in terms of resolving problems and in any development programs in this area.
Description of Work
•Be able to design, develop, and integrated suspension component (track, road/idler wheel, sprocket, InArm units, torsion bar, damper, support rollers, track adjusting link, drive hub) for track vehicle
•Work with suppliers towards the development of the subsystems and components for the suspension systems
•Identify subsystem and component requirements and provide direction to analysis teams
•Actively support new product development teams in defining feasible concept solutions
•Develop integration approach and provide direction and guidance to engineers in this regard
•Create test plans and actively lead or guide subsystem level testing
•Prepare and present information to leadership on the project progress and design solutions
•Interface with the Government customer and project office as needed in support of vehicle programs
•Direct and oversee CAD model development and drawings
•Address cost, reliability maintainability, safety, human factors in the development of design
•Handle programs on a very tight schedule, and budget with complexity
•Assure customer expectations are met or exceeded
Position Requirements:
•A Bachelors Degree in Engineering is required and a Masters Degree is preferred
•Minimum of five years of experience in ground combat vehicle suspension design and development, integration, manufacturing, and quality assurance
•Established knowledge on track vehicle suspension components
•Experience in developing new components for track to reducing track weight and maintenance time, while improving track durability
•Experience in CAD and Advanced simulation tools
•Excellent analytical skills to appropriately size subsystems and components
•Demonstrated ability to work independently
•Ability to direct and lead others in a team environment
•Mind-set to work collaboratively in a team environment for program success
•Ability to improve existing processes in order to improve efficiency and speed
•Excellent Skills to develop technical documents and for oral communication
•Primary office work with occasional travel to test or supplier locations
•Ability to obtain US Security Clearance
