A day in the life of the Sr Director, Industrial Engineering is never the same but, in this role, you will be responsible for leading our Engineering Team’s efforts including facilities design and layout, automation, methods, labor standards and project management related to continuous improvement efforts to increase the efficiency of our distribution operations.
What You’ll Do:
•Provide technical leadership and development of the Engineering Team to improve overall operating efficiencies and service levels. The Director will build on existing Logistics capabilities through strategic planning, analysis, identification of best practices and coordinating continuous improvement initiatives associated with effective labor and transportation management.
•Responsible for identifying, prioritizing and implementing supply chain facility, process and method improvements that will effectively deliver productivity increases and superior customer service (to include facility design and layout, automated solutions, workflow, methods, scheduling and engineered labor standards).
•Seek out and maintain knowledge of current industry trends and best practices. Make recommendations to improve current programs and processes.
•Oversee the development, implementation and maintenance of engineered labor standards and incentive programs for warehouse and transportation operations. Ensure labor standards are reflective of safety standards/processes to improve Injury Frequency Rate targets.
•Support distribution operations management in the effective use of local industrial engineering resources to execute planned initiatives and drive business improvements.
•Cultivate a culture that focuses on continuous improvement through innovation, technology, and process control.
Sound Like You? Here’s what you’ll need:
•Bachelor's Degree (Required) Engineering Industrial Engineering or related field; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Master’s degree preferred
•Ten years extensive leadership experience in Industrial or Applied Engineering. Lean or Six Sigma certification preferred
•Five (5) years Supervisory experience
•In-depth understanding of supply chain operations, process flow and interdependencies across departments/functions. Demonstrated track record of improving business performance. Strong project management and analytical skills
•Strong organization, prioritization, problem-solving, decision-making, and accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to provide guidance and train associates
•Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally within an organization and with external customers and vendors
•Strong presentation, negotiation, leadership, and business/financial acumen
•Proficient with MS Office (Excel and Word) and logistics/supply chain systems (i.e., EXE)
•Ability to travel up to 20%
