The Intermediate Controls Specialist is responsible for all plant floor related, automation control based systems supported by the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles ICT (Information Technology) organization. Support includes the implementation of system changes, support of daily plant activities relating to these systems, and system management including the implementation of ICT standards and incident management. The position also provides infrastructure support for IT manufacturing plant operations, including the implementation of corporate sponsored applications that are critical to meeting the plants SQDCM (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Morale) objectives. Duties include all aspects of IT plant support including local and wide area network administration, Microsoft Office, Active Directory and Windows level one support. The Specialist will provide line of business support by interfacing with both plant and IT management to obtain business requirements and resolving related issues. Maintain IT governance by enforcing IT standards and guidelines within the local IT infrastructure.
Basic Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
•Minimum 2 years’ experience with PLC based automated machinery, data collection and process backup
•Minimum 2 years’ experience working in Information Technology
•Minimum 2 years’ experience providing level one support of large Ethernet networks including switches, computers, printers, and servers, wireless devices, and knowledge of data highway networks
•Must be able to work any shift as well as over-time as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
•Previous implementation and 1st level support of mission critical plant floor systems
•Functional knowledge of all plant floor control systems used by local plants, ability to troubleshoot system issues, debug associated PLC code and hardware, manage and/or configure system servers, and configure ICT PLC driver and OPC client interfaces
•The ability to support plant floor activities, including follow up, and assisting the plant customers in resolving manufacturing problems with IT solutions
•Good understanding of computer programming
•Ability to setup and configure proprietary manufacturing support systems
•Project Management experience
•Experienced in IT support in a manufacturing environment
