The opportunity Our USGO Great Lakes Saginaw Valley team is evolving to meet the needs of our growing business and we are expanding our presence in Lake George, Michigan to support our Farwell Compressor Facility. We are seeking an experienced Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls Technician who has knowledge and experience in compressor station control systems and equipment. This individual must be a self-starter, capable of working with minimal supervision, who possesses excellent troubleshooting, problem solving and communication skills. What you ll do * Install, commission, test, repair and maintain compressor station, meter station, regulating equipment, communication systems and other facilities appurtenant to the pipeline system * Perform routine and major maintenance on gas reciprocating engines, gas turbine packages, gas compressor units and associated auxiliary equipment * Troubleshoot, operate, maintain, calibrate and repair various types of electronic, electric, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment * Maintain power, process controls, programmable logic controllers (PLC), electric generation equipment, microwave multiplex equipment, turbine and orifice meters * Assemble, install, test and maintain instrumentation, electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, apparatuses and fixtures, using hand and power tools * Diagnose malfunctioning systems, equipment and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of the breakdown and correct the problem * Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components * Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustments or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes * Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, frequency generators and oscilloscopes * Receive and maintain equipment documentation (blue prints, schematics, line diagrams, technical manuals, operation manuals) and serve as the facility technical resource in their review and use * Other tasks as required Minimum Qualifications * High school diploma or equivalent * Previous experience in a related industry Preferred Qualifications * Associates degree to include courses in electronics/controls Apply to this posting by 11/24/2019 using reference code 59565.
