Successful swim performance and/or coaching experience is desired. Experience with high school youth preferred.
$1,131.69 Stipend

POSITION DESCRIPTION
ASSISTANT COACH
REPORTS TO: Head Coach
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coach on Freshman, Junior Varsity or Varsity Level as determined by the Administration and Head Coach.
- Perform coaching tasks as directed by the Head Coach.
- Assist Head Coach in coordinating volunteers/event workers for home events.
- Become familiar with Michigan High School Athletic Association Eligibility Rules.
- Become familiar with Marquette Senior High School Coaches Handbook.
- Attend Staff Meetings called by Head Coach or Athletic Director.
- Help supervise athletes on field, in the locker rooms, on buses, in restaurants, etc.
- Aid in issuing, collection, care and storage of equipment.
- Report for practice within ten minutes after the close of the school day and one hour before the start of practice on non-school days.
- Counsel with athletes, parents and teachers as necessary.
- Perform scouting duties as directed by the Head Coach.
- Participate in off-season training programs as directed by the Head Coach.
- Attend Sports Banquet.
- Take over in absence of Head Coach.
- Help promote favorable public image of athletic program.
- Improve coaching techniques and knowledge by reading, observing and attending clinics.
- Attend Michigan High School Athletic Association Rules Meetings.
- Volunteer, when possible, at other home events and Booster Club functions.
- Perform necessary and customary Assistant Coaching Duties not listed in any of the above.
