This is a tale of someone only 20-years-old and with
Bill Marsh Buick GMC only 2 months that has the dogged determination of becoming a
General Motors master certified technician.
Chase Verscheure's interest in working on cars was born out of being connected to many farmers in
Monroe Michigan where he grew up. Working on lots of older tractors and lifted trucks,
Chase was amazed at how this big tractor machine can operate like a car! Transmissions, axles, drive-shafts and hanging out with like-minded friends the whole way. After job hopping from factory to painting to even a septic service,
Chase enrolled at the
University of Northwestern Ohio (UNOH)for robotics where he learned to engineer, tear-down and diagnose issues.
Joining the
United Equity coop during this time period gave
Chase his real formal opportunity to work on tractors. He also started working on the daily-driver trucks at
United and found that he really like it. So, he switched to automotive technology at
UNOH. After the switch,
Chase's father Jeff (who lives in
Buckley) had seen the mentorship listing on
BillMarshCareers.com and they both realized that what is being offered at the dealership could be likened to an on-the-job-automotive version of going to
UNOH . Of course with a bright individual like
Chase, dad is motivated to having his son join him in
northern Michigan!
Having worked on all his family's vehicles, his own 300k+ mile truck and practicing taking cars apart in junkyards has helped
Chase with experience for a great start at
Bill Marsh. He has learned something new at all his efforts along the way and keeps learning.
Chase sees himself as a
GM master technician at
Bill Marsh in 3 to 4 years. We at
Bill Marsh see that and more for
Chase as he begins his life in the business we all love here, the car business!
