The Maintenance Supervisor/Engineer is responsible for supervision of preventative and repair maintenance at Webb.
REPORTS TO: Plant Manager
DIRECT REPORTS: Vehicle Maintenance Mechanics, Plant Maintenance Mechanics, Temporary/ Summer Maintenance Help
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure vehicles and facility equipment is running properly in manner that meets all aspects of “Webb’s Quality and Environmental Commitment”.
- Responsible for designing, planning, installing, and maintaining systems, facilities, equipment, and vehicles with managerial/supervisory duties for the department.
- Help devise efficient systems and eliminate wastefulness
- Integrate machines, information, employees, and materials to improve safety, quality, and overall effectiveness of operations
- Continue the systematical inspection, repair and maintenance of all tractor, trailer, and tanker vehicles carrying hazardous materials per the FMCSA and Regulations of 49 CFR Transportation while growing value for our customers, communities, coworkers, and company.
- Supervision of Personnel
o Complete annual review of direct reports and collaborate with other supervisors in the operations departments
o Oversee Maintenance Job training
o Ensure Safety Training is completed
o Continually improve employees in company computer software (ERP) systems use and operation
o Addressing personnel performance, discipline, and issues
o Significant training in all areas including EH&S, procedures, and work practices/techniques
o Vacation planning and approval
- Directs the work of the Vehicle and Plant Maintenance Facility
- Coordinate work with outside vendors, schedules work, assigns and review work that has been completed
- Reviewing plan operations for trends, developing action plans to correct plant operations that do not optimize our equipment in use
- Perform Maintenance Checks and Assessments
- Direct the planning, scheduling, maintenance, and reliability activities to ensure that long and short term objections are achieved. Must manage and embrace the Maintenance Work Instructions.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with other sections within the plant, employees, and staff from other agencies
- Manage the maintenance and reliability functions of the company’s plant equipment
- Plan and supervisor the work of subordinate employees: plan, schedule, and coordinate workflow for the shop by determining the most effective method of performing a job and choosing between internal and external resources
- Maintain DOT files for vehicles
- Establish strategic focus, goals, and objectives and managing the resources and projects to maximize the effectiveness and consistency of maintenance practices
- Implement and monitor a preventative maintenance program to assure cost-effective maintenance and a scheduled maintenance program
- Identify equipment effectiveness and upgrades needed to Webb
- Review vehicle and special equipment specifications for technical requirements.
- Coordinate for auction of vehicles
- Work with internal and external customers on schedule, product, and resource availability
- Oversee the maintenance work order system for completion, update, and progress
- Collaborate with other Supervisors to prioritize repair schedules
- Responsible for ensuring all company training programs are completed as assigned
- Environmental, Health, and Safety
o Responsible for safety, regulatory, and environmental requirements applicable to Webb’s Plant and Vehicle Maintenance Operation
o Responsible for compliance and documentation for all Plant and Vehicle Maintenance Operation and updates as required
o Development, investigation, and tracking of budgets
o Cost control and improvement
o Creation of departmental budget, capital plan development, and expense review

SKILLS REQUIRED
- Prior professional experience as Mechanical, Industrial, or Plant Engineer
- Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
