BA/BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering
Position Focus:
This position will be responsible for developing and evaluation the RF section of connectivity platforms for automotive. This will engineer will have strong experience with cellular Network Access Devices (NADs) and will manage and evaluate suppliers for these components. This engineer will review customer requirements and then collaborate with hardware/software engineers to design systems that satisfy the requirements.The engineer will work closely with automotive companies in designing systems and in developing proposals and architectures that position Lear to win new business. This position will also manage the homologation of connectivity solutions globally and work with certification labs.This position will manage and evaluate antenna designs and suppliers for various connectivity projects. This position will work closely with and guide development teams for various technologies such as V2X, Cellular, WiFi, GNSS, & BLE technologies. This engineer will work with the Global connectivity team to develop platforms, architectures and solutions that can be used as reference implementations for customer programs.
Primary Responsibilities:
•Work closely with the Global Connectivity engineering team
•Maintain an expert level of product knowledge and application on Connectivity technology
•Listen, understand and convey customer issues and requirements to product management and development teams
•Evaluate and manage relationships with RF solution suppliers
•Manage homologation process globally and work with test labs
•Develop and evaluate RF performance of connectivity products
Preferred Background & Experience:
•4-10 Years' Experience in Engineering
•Working experience with multi core microprocessors and MCU's
•A solid understanding of network communications technology - Internet, Intranet, VPN, TCP/IP, Ethernet, IPv4, IPv6 etc.
•Strong communication, Interpersonal and organizational skills
•Hardware block diagram design and development
•Experience with Cellular/RF Certification processes
•Working Experience of HW design software
•Experience with communications technologies such as cellular, WiFi, Bluetooth, V2X and GNSS
•Experience with antenna design and simulation
