BRIEF STATEMENT IDENTIFYING BASIC NATURE OF POSITION:
Safely operates and maintains the Wellness Plan Medical Centers' (TWPMC) Mobile Unit. Assists with event/program coordination duties under the direction of the Mobile Unit Program administrator. Provides supportive services – i.e., outreach and crowd control, accompanies staffing and maintains all aspects of the medical/dental mobile care unit. Performs clerical, reception and registration duties as defined.
Formal education required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Must possess a valid Class A unexpired, unsuspended Commercial Drivers' License with good driving record and the ability to drive the Mobile Vehicle to and from events/destinations
- Must be able to pass Motor Vehicle Record (MVR), drug screen and background check
Experience/skills/ability required (number of years and type):
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
- A valid driver's license and at least 1-year of driving experience to perform the job safely
- Excellent navigation skills and proficiency in using navigation applications to find program locations
- Time management and organizational skills to keep track of event appointments and stay on schedule
Additional knowledge, skills and abilities which is not required but which may be desirable:
- Requires a minimum of 1- year of driving experience before a candidate can be hired for the position of a driver
- Entry-level drivers may be hired if they fit the position requirements
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains and unexpired, unsuspended Commercial Drivers' License and a good driving record
- Possess basic knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) law and mandates and understanding of TWPMC's safety standards
- Must be able to lift at least 50-75 lbs. i.e., must possess physical stamina and good upper body strength to assist clients, supplies and related packages, as well as be able to load and unload them from other sources
- Reporting any vehicle accident or other incident immediately to the Supervisor
- Communicates with management any problems that may occur during daily operations
- Safely operates and maintains the mobile unit and adheres to operational requirements
- Transport clients and/or staffing to and from destinations
- Adapt to perform repetitive, short-cycle activities according to set procedures when performing this function Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients
- Assists with program coordination duties under the direction of the Mobile Unit Program Administrator
- Research and plan for traffic, construction and weather delays
- Use navigation applications to determine the best route and arrive at destination on schedule
- Ensure that the vehicle is cleaned, waste/water disposed/filled and always fueled and ready for use, arrange for vehicle repairs as needed and keep mileage records and repair records up to date
- Reviewing their transportation schedule the day before and contacting their clients to confirm their trips
- Use technology like smartphones and handheld devices to keep track of their trips and are responsible for and staying in contact with our team as well as viewing prompts on screens and navigate routes as efficiently as possible to timely arrivals
- Being flexible with their schedule to accommodate for last minute add-on/changes to schedules and before starting the drive, the driver will discuss their availability with the program administrator so that they will be able to schedule trips when the driver is available to drive
- Set up and tear-down of event material and equipment
- Represent TWPMC in a professional way - must demonstrate and always use professional, customer friendly demeanor and etiquette when interacting with clients
- Adheres to safety and regulatory guidelines – i.e., drivers and clients to be always wearing face masks while someone else is in the vehicle, as per COVID 19 Regulations
- Fulfill administrative needs, i.e., office set-up, crowd control and process assistance
- Follow dress business casual dress code with comfortable, closed-toe shoes and no dangling jewelry or hanging ornamentation
- Events may occur 7-days a week with advanced notice and hours of operation may differ depending on the event
- Supports a healthy and safe work environment for all employees, taking steps to ensure he/she is aware of and follows safe working laws, regulations and practices
- Participates in the Performance Management process
- Ensures that TWPMC is in compliance with privacy and security regulatory requirements of the federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
- Other duties as assigned
