Description for Sr. Program Manager:
- Ensure transfer of Advanced / Decoupled opportunities to Global vehicle programs.
- Ensure the correct and efficient information flow and reporting during the advanced systems development phase to all levels of the Product, Manufacturing, Purchasing and Finance teams.
- Lead the response for Feature Deployment (FST) and Feasibility Brief for vehicle programs (Technology Gate Process).
- Verify and manage planning timelines for project development, integrating the information coming from all advanced development functions and communicate program direction and changes.
- Lead engineering risk assessment, prioritization and execution path for advanced activities with concurrence (Product Planning, Core Units, MR).
- Ensure cost / investment recovery actions are identified / implemented as necessary for decoupled and advanced development.
- Ensure accurate status communication for advanced activities in support of long lead programs.
- Lead Global executive level communication and advanced development strategic forum(s), key issue resolution, approvals and advanced strategy development.
- Lead and manage Decoupled and Advanced Development process improvement and global harmonization.
Requirements for Sr. Program Manager:
- Powertrain Proactive Engineer will support the proactive engineering initiative; this initiative includes product, process and systems development, utilizing the Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) methodology.
- This engineer will support and work with the Powertrain Proactive Engineering Lead.
- The engineer will foster the learning development of employees in this methodology.
- The engineer will assist with deployment strategies throughout the Powertrain organization.
- The engineer will assist in the identification and prioritization of proactive engineering opportunities.
- The engineer will assist, lead, and coach on proactive projects.
- The engineer will assist with the reporting of progress of the initiative to leadership.
Requirements for Sr. Program Manager
- Basic Qualifications include; BS of Engineering (accredited university). Powertrain engineering experience, i.e. engine, transmission, calibration.
- Proactive Engineering experience i.e DFSS / Six Sigma / Lean / Kepner Trego / Shainin certification or equivalent experience.
- ≥ 6 years’ experience using proactive/reactive engineering tools.
- Ability to coach, teach, and lead teams of highly skilled engineering employees.
- Motivated, self-starter, persistent.
Preferred Qualifications for Sr. Program Manager include
- Advanced degree.
- Black Belt or Master Black Belt (MBB) certified.
- Instructor Experience.
- Experience launching a Proactive Engineering / DFSS Methodology in a organization.
