The Material Flow, Simulation and PFEP Center of Competency (CoC) Lead is responsible for overseeing and project managing the material flow simulation models for new program launches and modifications to the existing programs. The simulation models will be for assembly, stamping, powertrain and 3PL, the models cover internal and external material flow. The CoC will act as the Simulation Program Manager between the material flow teams and the simulation suppliers. The CoC will expand simulation into kitting and sequencing cells, stamping and powertrain. The CoC will develop and improve standards for the World Class Technology 7 Steps of Layout and Simulation CoC (MLM), checklists, workbooks and how to/teach documents related to simulation, PFEP and manpower.
The CoC will work with a supplier to develop a Plan for Every Part (PFEP) tool with material display document and WCM integration and will develop new material flow and simulation tools and update the material flow and simulation scopes of work. The CoC will support new launches and operations via working with IEs prior to program approval to develop manpower levels for launch scenarios. The CoC will work with various material flow launch teams on material flow, static, dynamic simulation and PFEP process and steps and hold weekly meetings with launch teams to monitor progress on the 7 steps of layout and simulation. The CoC will teach, coach and mentor teams on material flow, static, dynamic simulation and PFEP process and steps, conduct training, workshops and develop and administer pre/post tests to assess knowledge levels as well as lead monthly organizational meetings.
