The Database Administrator (DBA) job function requires a minimum of 4 years of operational experience in a database administration role. While SQL Server and Oracle experience is preferred, the position includes responsibility for managing multiple database platforms. Database administration experience with SQL, Oracle, MemSQL, HANA, PostgresSQL are a plus.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate with managed service provider to define and capture operating metrics, support Daily Operating Reviews and oversee level 2 database operations.
Coordinate with business and IT portfolios, manage SLAs and support ITIL change, incident and problem management processes.
Provide level 3 database operations support and participate in on-call rotation.
Provide database administration support for multiple relational database platforms (Oracle, SQL, HANA, MemSQL, PostgreSQL).
Support Sarbanes-Oxley regulatory controls, manage user access controls and manage security vulnerabilities through regular patching.
Interact with application and database vendors as-needed for issue resolution. Identify, research, and resolve defects in a timely manner while adhering to all change management processes.
Coordinate with project teams and provide support to project build activities.
Perform regular monitoring, performance tuning and alerting on critical database operations.
Coordinate with IT portfolios and software vendors to manage database product lifecycles through regular upgrades and patching.
Requirements:
Requires a bachelor's degree preferably in an Information Technology field. Applicable exempt work experience is not required. Less than a bachelor's degree may be acceptable if accompanied by other technical training / relevant certifications and extensive experience (internal/external) in positions that demonstrate required abilities and performance.
