The Michigan Works Bridge Academy serves youth ages 1620 and adults in a nontraditional setting using cutting edge technology in a projectbased careerfocused learning environment.This yearround dynamic education center is currently recruiting for a Teacher.As part of the Michigan Works Team this Teacher will help students develop skills and knowledge consistent with the academy s curriculum and goals that will contribute to the student s development as mature able and responsible adults. This position will have a broad range of responsibilities including the following Plan preGED lessons aligned to the General Equivalency Degree standards and execute lessons in a oneonone small or whole group format. Provide strategic and and or differentiated instruction based on student needs. Navigate and enroll students into computerbased programs with assistance. Assign appropriate lessons on computerbased learning programs and monitor students while completing tasks. Enforce disciplinary policies as laid out in the Bridge Academy Student Handbook. Track student attendance and progress. Participate in community service learning projects and events assisting with scheduling of the activities. Attend weekly staff meetings and collaborate regularly with the Bridge Academy team members. Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and objectives as indicated in the lesson plans for the lessons units or projects assigned. Drive students on the Bridge Academy bus route as assigned. Monitor the Bridge Academy lunchroom on designated days. Maintain a clean and safe classroom for students and staff following all Michigan Works and Bridge Academy policies and procedures. Maintain confidentiality of student records and test scores. Ability to get Chauffeurs license if you do not have one. Experience in Urban Education is preferred. Personal computer literate with Microsoft Word Power Point Excel and Outlook.
