We are looking for a bright, talented, and experienced Engineering Manager of Emobility System Synthesis and Analysis that enjoys working with cross-functional teams and is passionate about being a part of the transformation from traditional powertrains to the electrification of Navistar vehicles. The Manager of Emobility Synthesis and Analysis team is fully responsible to deliver a complete solution including Customer, Vehicle, Regulatory, and Safety requirements while partnering with the NAVISTAR Corporate engineering team for use by Navistar in its line of commercial vehicles.
•Create a team environment, collaborative, and “start-up” atmosphere
•Recruit and select their own engineering team (approximately 2 engineers)
•Develop and mentor team members
•Leverage NAVISTAR corporate synthesis and analysis team as required to complete projects
•Insure engineer solutions meet overall program requirements including all timing milestones
•Establish, management and meet all engineering budget on a quarterly basis
•Be a major contributor in capturing engineering knowledge related to impact of electrification on NAVISTAR assumptions for future usePosition Purpose and Requirements
Oversees overall engineering functions. Responsible for leading the processes, problem solving and implementing solutions to the most complex and high risk engineering issues. Provides leadership on a broad basis; influences technical and regulatory standards bodies. Serves as a critical asset in helping Corporation influence the engineering strategy of key partners.
Basic Requirements:
•Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
•At least 8 years experience in product design/development
•At least 2 year experience managing technical professionals and technical staff in engineering and design activities

•Master’s Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
•At least 6 years experience in product design/development
•At least 2 years experience managing technical professionals and technical staff in engineering and design activities
OR
•PhD in Engineering or Engineering Technology
•At least 4 years experience in product design/development
•At least 2 years experience managing technical professionals and technical staff in engineering and design activitiesAdditional Requirements
•Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)
•Experience in the Synthesis and Analysis of automotive or commercial vehicle products and systems
Desired Skills:
•Knowledge of Model-based Controls Development and experience with using industry standard tools like Matlab/Simulink, ETAS INCA, Vector CANalyzer etc.
•Knowledge of SAE J1939 CAN protocol
•Critical understanding of electrification systems and should possess the ability to appropriately use that knowledge to validate control strategies for various controls sub-systems
