Job Details

Producing or repairing precision parts, using manual lathes and appropriate measuring tools

Responsibilities:

• Review samples, drawings or instructions to understand the scope of work and required output. Able to read blueprints
• Understand sequence of steps necessary to complete parts
• Able to use precision measuring tools necessary to complete the job ie, micrometers and calipers
• Plan and execute necessary steps to complete macining operation
• Provide accurate measurements during and after processing
• Select appropriate machines, understand operation of machine and speeds and feeds needed for most efficient machining of parts
• Monitor machine during machining process and adjust feeds and speed as necessary
• Check output against required drawing specifications and record findings
• Perform routine maintenance on machine
• Engine lathe experience a plus
• Vertical Turning Lathe(VTL) experience a plus
• WIllingness to learn and train
