Tax Analyst
Main Office (MOS)
Position Summary
The Tax Analyst is responsible for preparing federal, state and local income tax returns and prepares partnership and indirect tax returns. They also utilize research skills to apply foundational tax knowledge to understand potential tax issues and participate in tax planning.
Duties
* Prepares partnership and consolidated corporate workpapers and tax returns for federal, state and local authorities.
* Assists with the sale and use tax return preparation process.
* Assists with the personal property tax return preparation process.
* Prepares the annual and quarterly calculation for partnership dividends, redemptions and conversions.
* Prepares state apportionment data for the preparation of state and local tax returns.
* Reviews a tax calendar to effectively track statutory and internal due dates for all tax filings.
* Prepares a quarterly and annual Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) audit testing calculations and projections.
* Researches and documents federal and state tax compliance issues.
* Supports external firms in the preparation of the annual report financial disclosures for income taxes.
* Manages multiple responsibilities and projects while maintaining internal and statutory deadlines.
* Stays abreast of federal and state laws, regulations and current developments.
* Other duties and special projects as assigned.
Requirements
* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (Required)
* 1 year tax experience in public accounting or equivalent
* Strong attention to detail
* Excellent analytical and organizational skills
* Advanced proficiency using Microsoft Excel
* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities
