What you will do
Johnson Controls invites you to apply for an internship position located in Grand Rapids, MI. Our internship program is designed to provide you with a positive work/training experience and challenging objectives that are consistent with your career goals and current level of education. Specific identified internship responsibilities are outlined below.
This internship requires a commitment of 10-15 hours/week during the semester and 40 hours during the summer break. The selected applicant will need to be located in the Grand Rapids, MI area and able to commute to the location. We are flexible with scheduling the part-time hours around your school schedule.
How you will do it:
•Communicate with internal customers seeking information on type, size, and dimensions of requested roofing products.
•Generate process job orders and special components.
•Create 2-D/3-D computer models of proposed commercial roofing product components.
•Generate new/special product drawings and prepare revisions for current product drawings.
•Create and edit bills of materials.
•Conduct reviews with fabrication plant regarding the ability to produce custom products for product lines.
•Handle additional responsibilities and projects as assigned.#internship
Qualifications
What we look for
Required Qualifications:
•U.S. citizen or legal right to work in the U.S.
•Currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited U.S. college or university
•Pursuing a degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering or similar degree
•Knowledge of Microsoft Office and AutoCAD. AutoCAD 2013 Inventor preferred.
•Available to work 10-15 hours during the semester and 40 hours during the summer

•Proficient written and oral communication skills.
•Ability to develop relationships with employees and customers.
•Ability to process heavy flow of extremely detailed work in timely manner.
•Excellent problem resolution and analytical skills.
