Our Power Generation team is seeking a Sr. Project Manager to join our nationally ranked team in Ann Arbor, MI.
Primary Responsibilities:
The Sr. Project Manager will be a seller-doer who sells, plans, schedules, executes and supervises/leads project team(s) primarily on independent development, and utility fossil generation projects.
This particular position involves consistent client interaction from business development through the proposal & contracts stage (i.e., seller). This individual also provides overall project direction through project completion, to the project team(s) while providing information about the project status to the client and others in HDR, (i.e., doer) while meeting client's requirements for quality and service.
Other responsibilities may include:
*Involves the management, coordination, and support of power project development and consulting activities on a technical, contractual, and financial consulting level.
*Develop and maintain client relations.
*Maintain budgets and schedules.
*Achieve project profitability goals.
*Identify and process scope changes.
*Perform marketing, business development, and consulting activities with existing and new clients.
*Develop the scope of work for new project opportunities.
*Act as proposal manager and assist in the proposal preparation.
*Develop the project work plan for the execution of the project.
*Following award of contract, provide daily leadership to the project team and technical staff in completion of the project activities.
*Provide communication and coordination within the project team and the client such that the project work plan and the client's expectations on deliverables are understood.
*Monitor project deliverables for quality, completeness and conformance to the client's expectations. Implement quality control checks (e.g., organize and lead routine design reviews and peer reviews).
*Monitor the project budget and schedule.
*Develop appropriate recovery plans in the event of potential shortfalls.
*Monitor the proposed scope of work and identify scope changes.
*Conduct negotiations to obtain the client's approval and perform the contract administration of change orders.
*Provide training and mentoring to project team staff on project management and project consulting issues.
*On an as needed basis, perform design or consulting work in the manager's area of engineering expertise.
*Maintain client relations in support of obtaining repeat owner's engineer and design assignments.
*Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
*Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required
*Registered Professional Engineer
*15 years of engineering experience in Power Generation
*10 years of Project Management experience in Power Generation
*Major experience in not less than two large combined cycle projects
*MS Office and MS Project experience is required (Access experience would be plus)
*Demonstrated business development and strategic planning skills
*Good communication, leadership, planning and mentoring skills
*An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
Preferred Qualifications:
*Project Management Professional (PMP) or ability to obtain is desired
