DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
A Day In The Life Typically Includes:
* Create an environment where the team achieves zero incidents in Environmental, Health and Safety
* Lead and foster a safety culture that values risk identification/reduction and personal ownership, through a principle-based approach
* Develop processes and systems which allow the shift leaders to succeed
* Lead and supervise Shift Capability Leaders
* Creating and maintaining a positive work environment for all employees. Spending time on the operating floor engaging with employees and overseeing plant operations as appropriate.
* Proactively lead, mentor, supervise, coach and develop hourly and salaried employees utilizing the MBM Guiding Principles and Operations Excellence tools to improve capability and performance
* Ensure that individual roles, responsibilities and expectations (RR&E’s) are aligned with plant and organizational goals to assure maximizing real long-term value for the company
* Assure all team members have a development plan and is part of succession planning
* Assure certification process leads to success within the product stream
* Hold team and individuals accountable for executing and meeting operating targets/expectations
* Create an environment that promotes developing and transferring knowledge to team members
* Lead development and implementation of Performance, Skills and Qualifications capability
* Lead and develop the shift capability leaders by helping them implement training in a consistent manner across teams
* Manage overall staffing for the facility and ensure seamless onboarding of new hires
* Interface with other capability groups to identify and address performance gaps
* Collaborate with Shift Capability Leaders to assure operator/technician performance gaps are identified and addressed
* Manage hourly staff scheduling exceptions
* Seek to resolve issues in a union environment
* Stay current in best practices and be a continuous learner
* Work in a team-based environment and willingness to put the team first
* Challenge the status quo to facilitate continuous improvement
* Collaborate across roles, gather and share feedback
* Apply problem solving knowledge and skills
