General Summary
The Senior Rate and Business Support Analyst will serve as an Electric Grid Integration (EGI) Regulatory Lead. This position plays a vital role in the creation of witness testimony and exhibits in rate cases, Integrated Resource Plans (IRPs), Electric Distribution Infrastructure Investment Plans (EDIIPs), Power Supply Cost Recovery cases (PSCR) and other EGI related regulatory cases. This position assumes leading roles throughout the regulatory case life cycle: testimony, audit/discovery, pre-hearing, hearing, cross examination, decision and appeal. The Regulatory Lead gathers all necessary data from the witness and subject matter experts (SMEs), compiles it into cohesive testimony and exhibits, prepares case books for witness use and drafts answers to audit/discovery questions. The role also is responsible for shepherding the regulatory requirements through a structured process with tight deadlines.
Duties and Responsibilities
•Meet with witnesses and SMEs to obtain necessary testimony information via appropriate communication channels
•Write and/or create witness testimony and accompanying exhibits and work papers
•Obtain necessary technical knowledge required to understand, explain and communicate testimony content
•Facilitate the regulatory process by ensuring the requirements are met according to target condition and on time
•Answer discovery questions
•Create witness case book
This position will be located at the Jackson - Parnall office in Jackson, MI.
Required Qualifications:
•Minimum bachelor's degree in financial discipline, public policy, or technical field required (business, management, law, political science, engineering or STEM). Advanced business degree or professional certification preferred.
•7+ years with direct experience in Electric Utility Rate Case processing

Conducts a variety of financial analyses and financial studies, develops and maintains financial models; reviews and evaluates work products, methods, and procedures; conducts financial & statistical research; performs analysis of statistical data; recommends and implements modifications for improvement to programs, policies, and procedures as appropriate; Collects, compiles, and analyzes information from various sources on a variety of topics, including complex financial, analytical, budget or administrative issues; monitors and evaluates the efficiencies and effectiveness of basic financial operations; Prepares executive level reports, presentations, summaries, and correspondence; creates comprehensive technical records and reports; Prepares staff reports for presentation to the Public Service Commission; Performs cost benefit evaluations of proposed capital and operating budget items; develops capital funding strategies; makes determinations related to the overall benefit of the proposal and alternatives; implements policies and procedures accordingly; Develops long-range financial planning and revenue requirements; conducts various feasibility and cost studies; forecasts the impacts of potential future events; Assists expert witnesses with the planning and coordination of testimony and exhibits; provides responsible, accurate, and thorough technical and administrative project support to expert witnesses; Performs duties in a professional manner and works well with others or in a team setting; Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers, outside agencies, and the public; Regular attendance and adherence to prescribed work schedule is expected to conduct job responsibilities; Observes safe work practices and safety methods; performs other duties as assigned.
