DLZ Corporation currently has a Transportation Engineer opening in our Lansing or Detroit Michigan office.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Perform transportation engineering assignments including; road design, roundabout design, traffic signal design, and signing design.
•Prepare construction cost estimates.
•Perform project management duties including client communication, scheduling resources, leading project teams, establishing and monitoring budgets/schedules.
•Prepare proposals; establish proposed scope of work, estimated hours/fees, and schedules.
•Participate in technical development/mentoring of junior staff.
•Participate in client and public meetings.
•Perform construction phase activities including bid evaluations and review of Contractor's shop drawing submittals.
•Perform all work in a safe and responsible manner, in accordance with the Health and Safety Plan.
•Perform other duties as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
•Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering.
•5 - 15 years’ transportation experience.
•Professional Engineer (PE) Registration in the state of Michigan.
•Requires experience performing road design for DOT and/or local clients.
•MicroStation experience is required, AutoCad experience is a plus.
•GeoPack and Civil 3D experience preferred.
•Strong interpersonal and written communications skills.
•Ability to visit and safely traverse construction and project sites and complying with all applicable safety codes and requirements.DLZ
