Job Description
The Scheduling Intern assists the scheduling department by learning to assist in scheduling orders within Reed City production. The Intern gains exposure to Tubelite's supply chain through the Reed City scheduling operations and project work. This position will be located in Reed City and will work, primarily, in the afternoons during the internship.
Principal Duties include, but are not limited to:
•Release "Hot Picks" to the press.
•Answer messages from the MRP system
•Review and approve acknowledgements from Linetec.
•Complete Linetec DMR's daily
•Process extrusion shortages for replenishment from Walker and Dallas
•Review order trends to optimize stock extrusion runs
•Create standard operating procedures for a more efficient workflow
•Assist in the Reed City Warehouse Optimization project implementation
•Train operators on new processes as needed
•Assist with special inventory projects
Position Requirements:
•Students entering their Sophomore year or higher in an accredited university / college program for business or supply chain or a similar field
•Strong data entry skills and attention to detail
•Experience with Microsoft Office software
•Excellent problem solving skills
•Excellent teamwork and communication skills
•Strong math skills
•Excellent customer service skills
•Ability to work with minimal supervision
•Ability to multitask
