The International Product Planning Manager represents international market requirements in the product development process (CPCP) from ideation phase through product launch to support the expansion and growth of international operations. This role ensures that international products requirements (customer wants/needs) are integrated into advanced product targets and product plans. The Manager also will have a thorough understanding of homologation and engineering requirements (e.g., CAFC) for international vehicle programs.
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
•Conduct in-depth analysis on consumer, market, segment, and competitive trends to drive the development of market definitions, target customer definitions, product definitions, and positioning strategy.
•Manage strategic studies to support new product initiatives and market opportunities.
•Conduct key segment and market reviews on an annual basis.
•Participate in all relevant Product Planning and Platform meetings representing the voice of International. Become a credible source on international markets.
•Lead the development of business cases to support new product and market actions.
•Support product-related initiatives for business development projects.
•Support the planning and execution of the international product forum, regional product and strategy forum, regional product plans and specification meeting, and the global product planning and international product management interface meeting.
Basic Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Engineering or related field
•4 years of experience in one or more of the following: Product Planning, Program Management , Product Strategy, Engineering, Marketing
•4 years of experience in the automotive industry
•In-depth knowledge of global automotive markets as well as global / regional trade agreements and tariffs
•Global perspectives on consumers, markets, competitive landscape and manufacturing regulatory issues, homologation requirements and the third party ratings
•Strong analytical skills (competitive and market data and consumer research)
•Ability to navigate and data mine the information from IHS Global Insight, Polk, JATO, NCBS (New Car Buyer Study) CINON and Mtab
•Must be able to balance diverse markets’ requirements and deliver the optimum solution.
Preferred Qualifications:
•Master’s degree in business administration, finance or engineering.
•5+ years of relevant experience in the job described
•Experience Data mining of information from third-party databases including IHS Global Insight, JATO, Polk, NCBS, and Mtab
