Primary Functions:
Set up and operate a CNC router to produce precision parts.
Duties and Responsibilities:
•Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as tape measures, micrometers and dial calipers.
•Manufacture components to specifications using CNC and general shop equipment
•Inspect final product for defects.
•Set up, adjust, and operate the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools to perform precision machining operations
•Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.
•Monitor and adjust the feeds and speeds of machines during the manufacturing process
•Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, and engineering information to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate products, and determine product dimensions and tolerances
•Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation of manufacturing components
••This position needs to be flexible to meet the changing needs of the business. High emphasis is placed on effective time management, the ability to work independently while maintaining a high attention to detail. This position requires the ability to interface with all levels of management.
Champion Bus, Inc., was founded in 1953 and located on 73 acres just outside Imlay City, Michigan.
