Shipping/Receiving Specialist
Location: Iron River, MI
Plant/Department: Shipping and Receiving
Important Working Relations: Assembly floor, warehouse department, purchasing department, quality department, Defense Aftermarket Manufacturing Liasion, mining sales and service.
Direct: None
Primary Responsibility: To verify and ensure that all incoming and outgoing product is up to ISO quality standards. Receiving and verification of purchased parts. Receiving in of interplant material transfers. Packaging and shipment of outgoing parts to customers, vendors, and interplant between facilities.
Major Duties:
Forklift operation and safety
Crane operation and rigging
Basic inventory transactions using a computer and scanner device
Packaging of outgoing shipments
Use of medium material handling equipment
Receiving/verification of incoming product
Computer transactions of purchase orders
Incoming material inspections
Processing of paperwork on incoming and outgoing shipments
Communicating with purchasing on purchased material discrepancies
Picking of shop orders
Packaging of kits to send direct to customer
Use of heavy duty handling equipment
Scheduling of shipments
Processing ship to vendors including non-conformance and outside process
International shipments
Hazardous material shipments
Other duties as assigned
Experience Preferred/Special Notes:
Basic understanding of supply chain
Basic blueprint reading, basic math, and use of measuring devices
Basic computer usage including typing, Windows © navigating, and Microsoft Office ©
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
Long periods of standing, bending, and crouching
Use of ladders to reach shelves and trays
Perform duties outside for long periods of time
