Job Description
The Corporate Strategy team works with senior leaders to help define the strategic direction of Thomson Reuters and translate the strategy into specific plans. We are seeking a Strategy Manager / Senior Strategy Manager to join the team and work on varied projects across Thomson Reuters, including in the corporate center and in the operating businesses (Legal Professionals, Corporates, Tax Professionals, Global Print and Reuters). This highly-visible role will provide the candidate with significant opportunity to advance within the Strategy organization or into other positions across the company. Role location is flexible.
Legal, tax, accounting, audit and news professionals turn to Thomson Reuters online information and software solutions for trusted answers in a complex and constantly changing world.
The Strategy Manager will report to the Vice President of Corporate Strategy and will be a key contributor to projects such as:
•Growth Strategies: market opportunity analysis, new market entry strategies
•Business Development: competitive analysis, mergers and acquisition (M&A) evaluation, due diligence
•Efficiency and Effectiveness: commercial strategy, channel strategy, product and technology planning
•Strategic Planning: annual business planning, business case development, 3-5-year strategic planning, capital allocation
•Board of Directors communications: helping senior leadership to articulate our strategy to the Board
JOB DUTIES
•Structures and leads projects (or parts of large complex projects), including customer segment or company strategies, acquisition pipeline development, the strategy planning process, and/or key operational issues
•Can play an individual delivery role in executing complex, large analytical and problem solving modules on an individual basis
•Takes overall responsibility for the project, including thought leadership role in problem solving and developing recommendations
•Synthesizes team's work to create deliverables, including developing compelling slides and presentations that tell a clear story and other outputs to document and communicate findings
•Independently interacts and collaborates with stakeholders in product, finance, technology and other areas
•Collaborates with and presents recommendations to senior-level stakeholders
•Manages multiple, time-sensitive project deliverables simultaneously
•Becomes "expert" on broad area
REQUIREMENTS
Experience and Education:
•3-5 years of related business experience in corporate strategy, strategic marketing or finance
•Experience in a strategy consulting firm or a corporate strategy team preferred
•Bachelor's degree required
•Experience owning and delivering concurrent, time-sensitive analytical projects required
•Experience in and knowledge of the legal, tax, accounting or audit industries desirable

•Proven analytical and quantitative skills, experience with spreadsheets, including ability to quality control team members
•Strong communication skills (slide layout and composition, memo-writing and verbal)

•Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships and influence all levels within an organization
•Strong ability to structure and manage projects
•Ability to facilitate large group sessions with senior management
•Ability to handle multi-tasking environment, meet deadlines, and work with a wide range of sensitive and confidential issues
•Resourceful, with ability and desire to find solutions where they are not obvious
•Fluency in English
